The IRS usually will not initiate contact by email. DO NOT reply to any emails claiming to be from the IRS. Cyber criminals will use methods that look completely legitimate through email, text message and social media. The first contact is usually by US mail. Be cautious, cyber crime is rising at an alarming rate.
