IRS announced they will be starting to accept individual tax returns on Monday Jan 23rd 2023. Business returns are being accepted Monday Jan 16th 2023. There are still some unprocessed returns from 2022, the IRS stated they are making headway. With the addition of about 5k employees the hope is that this tax season customer service and help desks will be much better than the past few years.
